Fast observed

A large number of prisoners lodged in the Central Prison here observed a token fast on Friday condemning the killings of Tamils in Sri Lanka. Sources said around 1,000 prisoners including about 700 convicts observed the fast condemning the frequent attacks on fishermen of Tamil Nadu in the mid-sea allegedly by the Lankan Navy and the gross human rights violation in the island nation.

They also demanded that no military support should be extended to Sri Lanka by India.
