Office-bearers elected

Rajendra Kumar Dalmia, president of Century Textiles, has been elected chairman of the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry for 2008-2009.

The other office-bearers are: Shishir Jaipuria, Managing Director of Ginni Filaments (deputy chairman) and S.V. Arumugam,Managing Director of Bannari Amman Spinning Mills, (vice-chairman).

V.S. Velayutham, Managing Director of Sri Gomathy Mills, has been elected chairman of the Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council. Amit Ruparelia of Trend Setters is the deputy chairman and Manikam Ramaswami, chairman of Loyal Textile Mills Limited, is the vice-chairman.

ATM inaugurated

An onsite ATM of Corporation Bank and locker facility were inaugurated at Singanallur recently. S. Pattabiraman, deputy general manager and zonal head of the bank presided.

New store

A Sony Ericsson Experience Store was inaugurated in Gandhipuram recently at 397, Bharathiar Road.

Award

Coimbatore chapter of the Computer Society of India received the ‘Regional Best Chapter’ award. The award was given based on the events organised by it, membership growth and services provided.
