MYSORE: Sri Mahaveera Seva Samsthan, Mysore, sponsored food for herbivorous animals during the Navaratri celebrations here. The head of the Sri Kshetra Kanakagiri Jain Math of Mysore also took part in the feeding of elephants at the Mysore zoo on Jeevadayashthami during the celebrations. On the occasion, the math adopted a peacock from October 7, 2008 to October 6, 2009 by paying Rs. 3,000 as adoption fee under the zoo’s adoption scheme.
