HYDERABAD: The alleged ‘unethical’ alliances sought to be put together by the Telugu Desam and Congress and their ‘opportunistic’ and ‘feudal’ attitudes came in from sharp criticism by Lok Satta on Saturday. In a statement issued here, Katari Srinivasa Rao, Lok Satta State Executive member, expressed surprise over the efforts of the TDP to have alliances with other parties with the sole motive of securing power, thus giving a go-by to principles and able administration. Mr. Rao took exception to the stand taken by the Nandamuri clan treating the TDP as a family entity. He said being a member of a particular family did not automatically entitle anyone in a democracy to hold a post of power. He charged the Congress with resorting a massive propaganda campaign to cover up the ‘misdeeds’ of its leaders and trying to lure people with ‘temporary’ welfare measures, terming them development. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
