Eight bodies fished out of Yamuna

NEW DELHI: The bodies of eight devotees who were drowned during immersion of a Durga idol into the Yamuna at Burari here on Dussehra day were fished out of the river on Saturday. “Two bodies each were recovered from Wazirabad, Geeta Colony and Tronica City, while one each was recovered from Sonia Vihar and Jagatpur. The operation began around 7 a.m. and was over in about six hours,” said a senior police officer.

Bodies were later handed over to the families.
