Special auditions to be held for student rock bands

Bollywood diva: Actor Soha Ali Khan at the inaugural of Royal Hyderabad 2008 in the city on Saturday.

HYDERABAD: Food and music lovers in the city are in for a treat with the launch of the Royal Hyderabad 2008 food and music festival here on Saturday. Bollywood actress Soha Ali Khan formerly inaugurated the extravaganza.

The third edition of the month-long festival this year will be conducted from October 18 to November 21.

Organiser

As part of the festival, SABMiller India, the organiser, has tied up with 25 premium outlets in the city to offer juicy kebabs, Hyderabadi cuisine, lively music and scintillating musical performances by renowned artistes, including Shanker Mahadevan.

Special Royal Challenge menu would be served by chefs of different restaurants every weekend during the festival and it would culminate in a mega food festival at Rock Heights on November 2.

Variety of food

While, food lovers can look forward to scrumptious food, rock band artistes will present their skills, as the organiser is conducting special auditions for student rock bands in different colleges to perform along with Shanker Mahadevan at a mega musical programme on November 21.

“Hyderabadis have good appetite for quality food and music and this festival is our way of thanking them for their support,” said SABMIller India Marketing Director Apurv Nagpal.
