Young World painting contest on November 29 and 30

Bangalore: Come November and it is time for The Hindu Young World Painting Competition.

This year, the competition will be conducted at 14 centres, on November 29 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode, and on November 30 in Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, New Delhi, Bangalore, Mangalore, Mysore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai and Tiruchirapalli.

There is no entry fee or entry form for participating in it. Those interested in participating in the competition (both juniors, from class IV to class VII and seniors, from class VIII to class X) have to send their drawings (for the preliminary round) to the centres that are nearest to their place of residence or to the centre where they would like to come for the finals. The topics for the preliminary round for the junior category are Sports Day, In the zoo, Flying kites, Birthday party. The topics for the senior category are Watching a stage play, On a hill station, Bandh/strike day, Environment day. Entries for the preliminary round should reach all centres by November 3 and those selected for the finals will be sent individual letters containing details about the venue of the competition, timing, etc.
