Letters to the Editor
For centuries non-whites could not walk on the pavements in South Africa. It occurred only to Gandhiji that all men being equal he must fight non-violently to win the right. One of the basic lessons of his life was ‘wherever there is injustice it must be fought.’ Non-adherence to this principle has cost us too dear to be described. The temerity with which the Tamil Nadu Electricity Minister talks about increasing the duration of power-cut is humiliating. In non-metro areas it lasts six and a half hours or more a day. A.
