Young World painting contest on November 29

KOZHIKODE: The Hindu-Young World Painting Competition will be held here, along with Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi, on November 29.

Students from schools in Palakkad, Malappuram, Wayanad and Kozhikode districts can participate in the Kozhikode edition of the contest.

As in the previous years, there is no entry fee or entry form.

Those interested in participating (juniors from classes 4 to class 7 and seniors from classes 8 to class 10) should send their drawings for the preliminary round to The Hindu centres nearest to their places of residence or to the Kozhikode office.

The topics for the preliminary round for the junior category are: ‘Sports Day,’ ‘In the zoo,’ ‘Flying kites’ and ‘Birthday party.’

For the senior category, the topics are ‘Watching a stage play,’ ‘On a hill station,’ ‘Bandh/strike day’ and ‘Environment Day.’

The preliminary round entries should reach all centres by November 3.

Those selected for the finals will be sent individual letters giving details such as the venue of the competition and time.
