Tirupur: The Mangalam police are on the look out for six persons who allegedly robbed a man of Rs. 5.85 lakh on Tirupur-Mangalam road on Saturday night. The police said Bhawan Kumar, a cashier of Royal India Roadlines, was on his way to the branch office in Tirupur in a car carrying the cash drawn from the company’s regional office in Coimbatore. The robbers, who came by three motorcycles, intercepted the vehicle and threatened Bhawan Kumar and driver Krishnamoorthy at knife point, and took away the cash. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
