Aid for chess player

CHENNAI: AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa on Sunday gave Rs. 80,000 to Namakkal-based chess player P.V. Nandhidhaa to attend the world chess championship in Vietnam. A press release from the AIADMK said the amount would be used for meeting the travel expenses. Ms. Nandhidhaa, who won the national championship in 2007 under 11 years category, has been selected to participate in the international event. She had written to Ms. Jayalalithaa seeking financial assistance to visit Vietnam.
