CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu captain R. Ashwin played wrecker-in-chief at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium on a rain-hit Monday, taking six wickets with his off-spin to reduce Kerala to 165 for nine in a third-round under-22 cricket match for the P. Ramachandra Rao Trophy. Dhananjaya Murari (30 batting) and Ganesh Satish (30 batting) steadied Karnataka at ICL-Guru Nanak after Goa, choosing to bowl, had taken an early wicket. The match between Andhra and Kerala at CPT-IP didn’t get underway, rain washing out day one. The scores: Hyderabad 165 for nine in 58 overs (R. Ashwin six for 65) vs. Tamil Nadu; Karnataka 71 for one in 25.2 overs vs. Goa. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
