BHAINSA (ADILABAD DT.): Barring the torching of an auto at Basar town by unknown persons in the wee hours of Monday, Bhainsa and surrounding places remained calm though tension still prevailed during the day. Police have detained 30 persons from various places including an activist of Hindu Vahini from Bhainsa town in view of the violent incidents of the last three days. Curfew continued to be imposed on Monday. Investigation into the causes of communal violence of October 10 at Bhainsa town and the burning alive of six persons at Vatoli village have commenced.

“In the absence of any eye witnesses to the Vatoli incident it becomes the job of professional investigators to unravel the mystery. We have initiated the inquiry and it will certainly yield results in due course of time,” observed Warangal Region Inspector General of Police J. Purnachandra Rao.

Meanwhile, about 700 policemen from Adilabad and neighbouring districts were deputed to man all the villages and Bhainsa town. District Collector Ahmad Nadeem said a report on the loss of property has been sent to the government.
