Shoe firm employees held

AMBUR: A total of 110 employees of a private shoe company at Ambur, who allegedly planned to stage protest outside government offices in Vellore, were arrested on Tuesday.

According to sources, the employees had been staging protests seeking a pay hike.

Some of them were recently suspended and the management had filed cases against them.

The employees also wanted the company to bring back the suspended employees and withdraw the cases against them.
