Vaibhav slams double hundred

HYDERABAD: Fifteen-year-old opening batsman G.V. Vaibhav scored a fine 268 and, along with Abhishek Ashok (120), helped CAL Public School defeat Model Mission School by 404 runs in the Boost Cup under-16 inter-school cricket tournament here on Tuesday.

The scores: Boost Cup: CAL PS 479 for two (Abhishek Ashok 120, G.V. Vaibhav 268) bt Model Mission HS 75 (P.S. Chaitanya Reddy six for 24).

Inter-school football

The Dr. John D’Souza inter-school football tournament will be held from October 15 to 21 at St. Andrew’s HS Bowenpally on a league-cum-knockout basis.

Handball trials

The RR District Handball Association will conduct selection trials on October 16 at the Municipal mini stadium, Sanathnagar, to select the senior women’s team for the inter-district tournament to be held at Tenali.
