Mechon-2k8 begins today

VISAKHAPATNAM: About 600 delegates will participate in the two-day national seminar Mechon-2k8 for mechanical and chemical engineering students beginning on Friday at the Al-Ameer College of Engineering and Information Technology in Gudilova of Anandapuram near here.

Announcing this at a media conference here on Thursday, principal of the college C. Ayyanna said that as many as 300 delegates would participate . About 100 papers were received and 50 of them were selected . The papers were on different topics like fluid mechanics, heat transfer, thermal engineering, robotics, thermodynamics, transfer process, non-conventional energy sources, role of robotics in chemical engineering, and nanotechnology.

B.V.S.S.S. Prasad from IIT Chennai would present keynote lecture besides B. Pradhan from IIT Kharagpur, M.K. Gajendra Babu and N. Ramesh Babu from IIT Chennai would also address the seminar, he said.Coordinator of accreditation for the college M.V. Krishnayya and convenor V. Naga Malleswari were present.
