Vishal ploughs a lone furrow

HYDERABAD: Vishal Nair’s all-round performance (52 runs and four for 39 including a hat-trick) could not prevent his team Takshashila Public School from going down to a two wicket defeat against Chirec PS in the Boost Cup under-16 cricket tournament on Thursday.

In another match N. Manikanta (109) and Anurag Haridas (123 not out) helped Hyderabad Public School to defeat Howard PS by 225 runs.

Another century came from Vikas Mishra (106) for Loyola Academy Jr. College which beat Glendale Academy by 378 runs.

The scores: Bhavans Jr College 234 (Pavan Kumar 72, Srikanth 55, Naresh Yadav 37, Kamal four for 57, Harsh three for 42) bt Oakridge High School 105 (Azhar five for 38 Pavan three for 11).

HPS Begumpet 317 for one (N. Manikanta 109, Anurag Haridas 123 not out, Md Ayaz 54) bt Howard Public School 92 (Anuraag Chowdary three for 19, Md Ayaz three for six ).

Wesely Jr College 193 (Shabazuddin 36, Akram 40, Amir three for 52) bt Sri Chaitanya Jr College 26 (Vishwajeet five for 11, Naresh three for 15).

Niraj Public School 183 (B.S. Karunesh 58, S. Rohit Singh three for 29) lost to St Peter High School 187 for nine ( Adarsh 54).

Loyola Academy Jr College 425 for five (Chandrakanth Rao 72, Vikas Mishra 106, Avanindra Reddy 81, Samson 49, Venkat Raj 50, Zain three for 49, Ashraf three for 27) bt Glendale Academy 47 (Avanindra Reddy five for 15, Vipul three for four).

Takshasila Public School 142 (Vishal Nair 52, Md. Ahmed Amjad four for 37) lost to Chirec Public School 144 for eight (Md Ahmed Amjad 90, Vishal four for 39, Haseeb Khan four for 48).

Model Mission High School 88 (Moorthy three for 26, Shyam three for 23) lost to DAV Public School 89 for five ( Venkatesh three for 23).

‘A’ Division two-day matches: Nizam College 225 (Md. Lyakath Ali 80, B. Ashutosh Kumar 51, Pradeep Jain five for 77) lost to Galaxy 226 for four (Avinash 117, Shivkisore 47).

Kosaraju CC 169 (Rajesh 40, Fardun 50, Asheel five for 45, C. Rahul Reddy four for 58) lost to Oxford Blues 170 for seven (Rathul 40).
