Call centre to monitor status of complaints

GUNTUR: The Guntur Municipal Corporation will soon set up a 24-hour call centre attached to its 103 complaints receiving centre to help citizens monitor know the status of their complaints.

Municipal Commissioner Siddhartha Jain at a press conference here on Thursday said that approved house plans and other services of the GMC would be sent to the applicants as an attachment to their e-mail ID if they provided it. The service would first be experimented with house plans and the website also revamped for which Expression of Interest letters obtained from the companies to make it more interactive and user friendly. Once the process was completed, the approved plans would also be placed on the site to provide transparency. The Commissioner appealed to the people to pay their taxes promptly so that more developmental activities could be taken up. Last year, they had paid Rs.32 crores and out of that Rs.13 crores was spent on development works, he observed.

Meanwhile, Assistant Examiner of Accounts of GMC Y. Venkateswara Rao was transferred to Nellore as the Examiner of Accounts there and he would be replaced by S. Maniraju, who was working as Audit Officer at Chittoor.
