Aditya, Vatsala win titles

NEW DELHI: Qualifier Aditya Sharma and top seed Vatsala Pandey won the under-14 boys and girls titles respectively in the AITA Talent series junior tennis tournament at the Vasantkunj Sports Complex, here on Friday.

Jaya Bhandari won the girls’ under-12 title beating top seed Sanya Sinha in three sets. However, Jaya did not have reserves of energy to tackle Vatsala in the other final later in the day.

The results (all finals): Boys: U-14: Aditya Sharma bt Kartik Kannan 6-3, 6-3; U-12: Raghav Mehrotra bt Vanro Mawia 6-3, 6-3.

Girls: U-14: Vatsala Pandey bt Jaya Bhandari 6-3, 6-0; U-12: Jaya Bhandari bt Sanya Sinha 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.
