VRSEC meets KLCE

VIJAYAWADA: V.R. Siddhartha Engineering College (VRSEC) and Koneru Lakshmaiah College of Engineering (KLCE) entered the final of the Acharya Nagarjuna University (East Zone) cricket tournament defeating Mangalagiri’s VJP & DLB Degree College and Vuyyuru’s AG & SG Siddhartha Degree College respectively here on Saturday.

The scores: VRSEC 164 for eight in 30 overs (Ravi Kiran three for 23) bt VJP & DLBC 58 in 17.2 overs (Jyothi Sai Krishna five for 10); KLCE 126 in 35 overs bt AG & SGDC 53 in 22 overs.

Madonna, VRKMHS reign supreme

City’s Madonna High School and Vuyyuru’s VRKM High School has won the overall championships in the boys and girls categories of the NSM Old Students Association’s inter-schools sports and games meet.

In the boy’s volleyball final, Madonna defeated BVSR High School 25-21, 25-18.

Montfort meet

The 30th National Montfort sports meet will be held at the St. John’s Higher Secondary School, Gannavaram, from October 22 to 25. Nineteen teams from Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh will take part in the four-day meet. — Sports Reporter
