Total number of voters in the district is 6,11,535, up from 5,89,075 The electorate includes 3,02,865 female voters and 3,08,670 male voters KARUR: The electorate in Karur district has got enlarged to cross the six lakh mark as per the final draft of the photo electoral rolls that were revised and published recently. The total number of voters in the district is 6,11,535 – up from 5,89,075 since the last such exercise. The numbers include 3,02,865 female voters and 3,08,670 male voters. There are four Assembly Constituencies – Karur, Aravakurichi, Krishnarayapuram (reserved) and Kulithalai – in the district. The authorities received petitions from a total of 70,782 persons seeking inclusion in the electoral rolls. After due scrutiny 56,081 applications were allowed and the rest 14,701 applications were rejected on various grounds. In addition, 11,427 names were deleted as the persons had died and a further 22,075 persons were deleted from the rolls as they had migrated out of the district. As per the revised final draft photo electoral rolls published there are 1,45,370 voters in Aravakurichi Assembly constituency, 1,54,631 in Karur, 1,51,769 in Krishanarayapuram and 1,59,765 in Kulithalai Assembly constituency.
