SALEM: Salem Corporation has begun laying a new pipeline to supply drinking water to wards 58, 59 and 60 in Seelanaickanpatti. The civic body has taken up the work as the old pipeline supplying water to these wards needed replacement. A new alignment will be followed for laying the new pipeline due to expansion of the National Highways 7, a release said. The pipeline would ensure water supply to people in Seelanaickanpatti, Uthumalai, Talamalai Nagar, Annamalai Nagar, EB Colony, MGR Nagar, Kanchi Nagar, Selva Nagar, Chinnasamy Nagar, Mariamman Temple Road, Govindammal Nagar, Alagu Nagar and Samiappa Nagar. The civic body would spend a sum of Rs. 46.50 lakh for laying the new pipes. Veerapandi MLA A. Raja, Mayor J. Rekha Priyadarshini, Deputy Mayor C.
