NEW DELHI: Two persons have been arrested by the Delhi police in connection with the murder of an alleged member of a terrorist group. The police found the body of a young man from Manipur near a pond in the Capital’s Najafgarh area on October 4. The deceased was later identified as O. Juge Singh, allegedly owing allegiance to Kanglai Yawol Kanna Lup, a terrorist group. Investigation revealed that Satender of Jharoda Kalan village bore a grudge against the deceased as the latter had extorted Rs.8 lakh from him. Satender allegedly hatched a plan in connivance with Juge’s colleague to kill him and hired contract killers for the job. The contract killers -- Devender, Narender and Pradeep -- abducted Juge from a house in Mukherjee Nagar on October 3 and shot him dead, the police said. Satender and Devender have been arrested. Four of the accused are absconding. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
