Additional buses for Deepavali

MADURAI: In view of Deepavali festival, the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) has planned to operate additional ‘special’ buses from October 24 to 27 on different routes for the convenience of the public.

Additional buses will be operated from Periyar bus stand, Arapalayam bus stand, Koodal Nagar, Anaiyur, Mahatma Gandhi Nagar, P and T Nagar, Oomachikulam, Pudur, Surya Nagar, Maatuthavani integrated bus stand, Anuppanadi, Panaiyur, Chinthamani, Avaniapuram, Palanganatham bus stand, Tirupparankundram, Weavers’ Colony, Nilaiyur, Tirunagar, Vilacheri, Madurai Kamaraj University, Vilangudi, Samayanallur, Sholavandan, Tirumangalam, Alagarkoil, Alanganallur, Melur, Tirupuvanam Pudur, Tiruppachethi and Kariapatti.

24 hours

On the eve of Deepavali, on the night of October 26, buses will be available 24 hours to clear the passenger rush till the next day.

Apart from operating buses in the city and its peripheries, the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation would also operate services to Nagercoil, Tirupur, Coimbatore, Erode, Salem, Rajapalayam, Sivakasi, Shencottah, Theni, Cumbum, Tiruchendur and other mofussil stretches round the clock, a press release said.
