Shakti Club enters super league

NEW DELHI: Shakti Club outplayed Glorious Club 6-0 for its sixth victory in as many matches to qualify in style for the super league from Group ‘B’ in the DSA ‘B’ division football league here on Thursday.

Ayush (3), Nikhil (2) and Sanjay scored for Shakti Club. Glorious wound up with 13 points from six matches, and would await the result of the match between Venus and Punjab Heroes that would decide its fate.

In Group ‘C’, Collegians Club beat Young Sports Club 2-1. Naveen and Bhavook scored for the Collegians, while Rashid reduced the margin.

Collegians has seven points from four matches, while Young Sports has not opened its account in four matches.

Ashish Sachdeva defeated Deepanshu Sharma 16-21, 21-17, 21-18 in a second round tie in the under-16 boys’ section of the third Pramod Mahajan Memorial badminton tournament at the AIIMS Gymkhana Hall here on Thursday.
