Mumbai: Vijay Merchant XI, after a promising start of 70 for no loss, tumbled to 157 all out against Khandu Rangnekar XI in the 23rd Sportstar Trophy Mumbai Cricket Association under-19 selection trial tournament at the Elf-Vengsarkar CA ground, Oval, here on Thursday. Skipper and opening batsman Tanmay Jadhav made 73 for Merchant XI. Seamer Meghan Pednekar and off-spinner Siddharth Prasad took three wickets each for Rangnekar XI which had made 229 in its first innings. More hits centuryOn the third day of the league match at Fort Vijay, Azad Maidan, Swapnil More scored a century (106, 194b, 7x4) but his side Dattu Phadkar XI managed only a six-run lead against Vijay Manjrekar XI. In its second essay, Manjrekar XI was 235 for six with opener Saurabh Randive contributing 84 and Sumit Gadigaonkar remaining unbeaten on 67. The scores: Vijay Manjrekar XI 274 and 235 for six (Saurabh Randive 84, Sumit Gadigaonkar 67 batting, Pratik Manjrekar three for 58) vs Dattu Phadkar XI 280 (Siddhesh Lad 59, Swapnil More 106, Himanshu Santholia five for 46).
