THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Thiruvananthapuram office is conducting an essay competition for school children studying in Kerala and Union Territory of Lakshadweep in order to create awareness on ‘Know your Banknotes’ and ‘Clean Note Policy’. The competition is open to all school children from Classes VI to XII. The children are divided in to three levels viz., Junior (class VI-VIII), Middle (Classes IX & X) and Senior (Classes XI & XII) for the competition. The maximum length of essays should be 1000 words for junior, 1500 words for middle and 2000 words for senior levels. The students may submit the essay on the subject mentioned below written in English, Hindi of Malayalam through their schools to RBI so as to reach the Deputy General Manager, Issue Department, Reserve Bank of India, Bakery Junction, Thiruvananthapuram 695033 latest by November 21. Wards of RBI employees are not eligible to participate in the competition. The groups, the topics and the length of the essay are: Junior (Class VI-VIII), ‘What do you know about Bank notes’, 1000 words; Middle (Class IX & X), ‘Currency and Common man’, 1500 words; Senior (Class XI & XII), ‘Clean Note Policy & Currency Management by RBI’, 2000 words. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
