ERODE: Seshasayee Paper Boards Ltd., Erode, recently organised a function to mark the implementation of National Agriculture Innovation Programme, says a release from the company. In the function held at Solasiramani village, A.K. Mehrotra, Vice President (Technical), SPB, presided and delivered the presidential address. Forest College and Research Institute, Mettupalayam, faculty Balasubramaniam: Dean in-charge, Krishnaveni; Professor, K.T. Parthiban, Associate Professor; and Institute of Forest Genetics and Tree Breeding, Coimbatore, faculty Nicodemus, lectured the farmers about the benefits of the programme, the release adds. Senior executives from the company and scientists from the two organisations participated in the function, which also saw planting of casuarina on farmers’ lands. The company supplied the saplings. K. Shanmugam, Head (Environment), SPB, welcomed the gathering. S. Velmurugan proposed a vote of thanks. Cut in water supplyFollowing stoppage of water flow in River Cauvery, the water available for distribution has come down, says a release from Erode Corporation.
