SP condemns attack on its Delhi office

Lucknow: The Samajwadi Party on Tuesday condemned Sri Ram Sena for ransacking its central office in New Delhi on Monday and termed it very unfortunate and against democratic norms. “Samajwadi Party has always stood up for secularism and warns the communal forces to desist from practices which could harm the unity and integrity of country,” said party spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhay here.

He said the SP had always been against communal forces and never compromised with its secular credentials. The party would never ever succumb to any such attempts, Mr. Chaudhary said.

According to the party spokesperson, the attack was in retaliation to the comments made against slain Delhi Police Inspector M. C. Sharma by party general secretary Amar Singh. Sri Ram Sena general secretary Binay Kumar Singh had acknowledged that his supporters had entered the SP office premises in New Delhi and damaged vehicles parked inside the premises. Mr. Chaudhary demanded a ban on right-wing outfits like Bajrang Dal.
