CHENNAI: Team Sidvin India and driver Naren are set to hit the trail in the upcoming three-day Rally of Japan that begins on October 31 in Hokkaido. With 118 entries, the rally is the biggest Asian event in the World Rally Championship calendar. After a patchy show in the previous three rallies in Turkey, Finland and New Zealand, Team Sidvin would be looking to notch up a few points. Team Managing Director Mohan Nagarajan said: “We are not here to become champions in our first year, but it would be nice if we have some points from this rally, to show that Indians have finally arrived on the world rally scene.” Naren will be driving a Subaru WRX-08 that has been prepared in collaboration with Tommi Makinen Racing. — Sports Reporter © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
