VICTORIOUS BUNCH: The Tamil Nadu team, winner of the Col. C.K. Nayudu Trophy South Zone under-22 tournament at Bangalore on Tuesday. Bangalore: Tamil Nadu emerged champion in the Col. C.K. Nayudu Trophy South Zone under-22 tournament that concluded here on Tuesday. Tamil Nadu topped with 22 points while Karnataka (16) finished runner-up. In the concluding round of matches, the two teams played out a draw at the Chinnaswamy Stadium with K.H. Gopinath’s unbeaten 104 (155b, 14x4) helping Tamil Nadu score 321 for five in reply to Karnataka’s 532 for nine declared that was built upon K.B. Pawan’s 167 (386b, 15x4, 1x6) and K.C. Avinash’s 144 (273b, 15x4, 2x6). The scores: Karnataka 532 for nine decl. in 174.2 overs (K.B. Pawan 167, K.C. Avinash 144) drew with Tamil Nadu 321 for five in 116 overs (K.H. Gopinath 104 n.o., V.
