Software professional injured in clash in Thoraipakkam

CHENNAI: A software professional suffered head injury in a clash between two groups at Thoraipakkam here on Monday night.

He was admitted to a private hospital, where his condition was said to be stable.

Police said Sanjay Devanand (26) of Orissa and a couple of his friends, working in a software company on OMR Road, were returning home when a group of local youths picked up a quarrel with them.

In the melee that followed, Devanand was hit on his head.

Based on a complaint, the Thoraipakkam police registered a case and apprehended Munusamy, Gopi, Venkatesh and three others in connection with the incident.
