Community Deepavali

Deepavali was celebrated as a community festival by residents of Gomathipuram. About 100 people gathered at a common place to burst crackers and exchange sweets and pleasantries. The community Deepavali was organised by the Centre for Environmental Services (CENS) with the objective of minimising pollution of the environment caused by bursting of crackers at different places. S. V. Pathy presided over the celebration.
