Mettuppalayam: An unidentified person hacked two persons at Mettuppalayam triggering rumours about a “psycho killer” on the prowl. According to reports reaching here, Krishnasamy (50), a farmer, was hacked by a person in a green shirt and khaki trouser this afternoon near a school on the Mettuppalayam – Coimbatore road. Later, Alexander (48), a headload worker, was hacked. They have been referred to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital. The police have deployed more police personnel to defuse tension and quell fear among the public. Head Constable heldThe sleuths of the Central Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday arrested and remanded Ayyamuthu, a Head Constable, on charges of forgery and falsification of records in an insurance claims case. The case pertains to Ayyamuthu’s tenure in Perur Police Station. He was last working in Peelamedu Police Station in Coimbatore city.
