Srinagar: Normal life remained paralysed in North Kashmir’s Baramulla as shops and business establishments in the town remained closed for the sixth consecutive day on Wednesday against the alleged high-handedness of security forces. However, skeleton transport started plying in the town, which witnessed violent clashes between angry mobs and security forces over the past five days resulting in the killing of a youth and injuries to many others, officials said. Meanwhile, no untoward incident was reported in the town on Wednesday, they added. — PTI © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
