Chamarajanagar: A large number of devotees from parts of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu witnessed the “Lord Malai Mahadeshwaraswamy’s Maharathotsava”, on the special occasion of Deepavali at M.M. Hills on Wednesday. Devotees pulled the chariot chanting the glory of the Lord Uge Madappa. The chariot began the journey carrying the idol of Mahadeshwara from the temple at 10.30 a.m. This was followed by Veerbhadra Kunitha, Hulivahana, Basava vahana and Rudrakshi Mantapas, carried by the devotees to fulfil their vows. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
