PROUD MEMENT: The members of the Presidency College team, winner of the Boost Cup under-16 cricket tournament. Bangalore: Presidency School, RT Nagar won the Boost Cup under-16 inter-school cricket tournament here on Wednesday. In the final at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Presidency School defeated St. Joseph’s Indian High School (SJIHS) by 42 runs. Powered by skipper Aman Raj’s 70 (109b, 5x4), Presidency School scored 217 for six in 50 overs. In reply, SJIHS struggled to cope with a modest asking rate of 4.36 per over. The top order laboured for its runs as evident in Ashish Dhar’s 38 that lasted 92 deliveries and featured a lone four. Towards the end as the overs ran out, the tail did slog but the fight-back ebbed away through catches in the deep and a run-out while Aman Raj grabbed two wickets to cap a fine allround day and Sanjit Shankar scalped three. SJIHS scored 175 in 45.1 overs.
