Nokia promises help in Soni case

Staff Reporter

No progress in investigation

BANGALORE: Even as the Bangalore city police are planning to pressure the management of the Nokia facility here to help trace two of its senior managers, the company has said that it will provide all possible help to the police in connection with the investigation of the Soni Jagadeesh suicide case.

Soni (26) of Mysore hanged herself on September 25 unable to bear the alleged harassment by her senior managers Suchin Krishnamurthy and Tejeshwar Rao alias Teju Gudena.

It is more than a month now and there has been no progress in the investigation.

In her suicide note, she blamed Suchin and Teja for her decision to take the extreme step. The accused are reported to be absconding.

Lookout notice

The police have issued lookout notice across the State and requested their counterparts in neighbouring States to help them to find the accused.

They are now planning to seek the help of Soni’s co-workers. According to sources in the Police Department, the police are planning to announce through megaphones about the charges against the accused in front of the Nokia facility near Marathalli shortly. Lookout notices would be pasted in the area.

Meanwhile, in a release, the company said on Wednesday that it would provide all possible help to the police.

“The company believes in letting the law of the land take its rightful course. With the ‘lookout notice announcement’ by police officials last week, the company believes that it is important that the managers immediately join the investigation and let the authorities conduct a proper investigation,” the release said.

No evidence

“At this stage, the company has no evidence of any untoward behaviour by the two managers,” the press release said. The police have announced a reward of Rs. 10,000 to those providing information about the absconding managers.
