Armymen injured in Congo

New Delhi: A Lt. Colonel and two personnel of the Indian Army on a peace mission in Congo were injured when a contingent of U.N. troops came under attack in Congo on Saturday.

An Indian battalion deployed in the U.N. Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUC) for peacekeeping came under attack in the northern Kivu province during a battle between government and rebel forces, sources said .

Five rockets were fired on two armoured personnel carriers injuring a Lt. Col and two other personnel. — PTI
