KOLLAM: By scoring 84 points each on Thursday, the first day of the three-day Kerala State CBSE Schools Kalotsav 2008 underway at the Poothakulam Aiswarya Public School, the Alappuzha Sahodaya Complex and the Kottayam Sahodaya were leading. The Trivandrum Sahodaya complex followed with 76 points. The festival competitions are being held in four categories. In the Higher Secondary category, the Venad Sahodaya established a lead with 31 points followed by Eranakulam Sahodaya with 29 points and Kottayam Sahodaya with 28 points. High school categoryIn the high school category, Alapuzha Sahodaya leads with 39 points, Malapuram Sahodaya follows with 38 points and Trivandrum Sahodaya in the third position with 31 points. In the upper primary category South Zone Sahodaya and Thiruvananthapuram Sahodaya leads with 18 points each, Malapuram Sahodaya follows with 17 points and Kottayam and Palakkad Sahodayas in the third position with 16 points each. In the primary section Kottayam Sahodaya leads with 16 points, Malapuram Sahodaya in the second position with 15 points and Alapuzha Sahodaya in the third position with 13 points. Earlier in the day the festival was inaugurated by the Minister for Water Resources N.K. Premachandran. He said that such festivals help students promote their talents.
