Militants gun down 10 people

Guwahati: Suspected militants belonging to the militant outfit Black Widow — the Jewel Garlosa faction of the Dima Halom Daugah (DHD) gunned down eight police personnel and two civilians in Assam’s North Cachar Hills district on Thursday.

Police said the incident occurred at 5 p.m. at Thaijuary where the militants ambushed a vehicle carrying the police team escorting a vehicle, which was carrying a dead body.

The DHD is currently under a ceasefire agreement with the Centre.
