KOCHI: As part of providing safe housing for fisherfolks, the district administration is planning to construct flats for 486 fishermen families. The Kerala State Housing Board has drawn up a proposal worth Rs. 2.80 crore for this purpose. This is presently under the consideration of the government. Land has already been identified in seven villages - Kuzhuppilly, Edavanakkadu , Nayarambalam, Njarackal, Elamkkunnappuzha, Kumbalanghi and Chellanam- for constructing flats.
