VIZIANAGARAM: The CPI (M) on Friday staged a rasta roko at the Collector Office junction in protest against alleged manhandling of teachers at Cheepurupalli on Thursday.

Reddy Sankara Rao, divisional secretary of the party, said that the teachers tried to gherao Minister for Housing Botcha Satyanarayana. Congress cadres, led by Bellana Chandrasekhar Rao, ZPTC member, while escorting him to the venue, reportedly pushed a woman teacher R. Nirmala. Condemning the incident, he demanded action against the ZPTC member.
