Minister participates in Indiramma Sambaralu in Chirala He organises job mela under Rajiv Udyoga Sri CHIRALA: Finance Minister, K. Rosaiah, has said that Andhra Pradesh stood first in implementation of Rural Landless Employment Guarantee Programme (RLEGP) in the country. Many states are evincing interest to follow Andhra Pradesh and implement the unique scheme of Rajiv Arogya Sri scheme that helped the poor get medical care on par with the rich in corporate hospitals, he added. Pucca housesParticipating in Indiramma Sambaralu in his native Chirala constituency today, Mr. Rosaiah said that the government is providing pucca houses and pensions to all eligible persons without any ceiling. Old-age pensionThe government has not only increased old-age pension but sanctioned them to 67 lakh people till now and the number is expected to go up to 80 lakh by March next year. Earlier, the Minister inaugurated Chirala municipal office building constructed at a cost of Rs. 2 crore. Recruitments
Mr. Rosaiah laid foundation stone for protected water supply scheme costing Rs.2.32 crore to cover four villages – Pandillapalli, Ramannapet, Kothapet and Papayipet. He also organised a job mela under Rajiv Udyoga Sri at Chirala. He said that the previous TDP government had virtually closed down Public Service Commission office. But YSR government is now recruiting candidates for Group one and two posts. It has also recruited 3,500 doctors, 4,000 nurses and 37,000 constables besides thousands of technicians. The government has provided jobs to 3.5 lakh persons in the last four years. Minister for Ports, M.V. Ramana Rao, who is in-charge Minister, District Collector, K.
