Tanstia-FNF Service Centre is set to launch a training programme in January

CHENNAI: For women who have business ideas, but no clear thoughts on how to develop them into a booming company, Tanstia-FNF Service Centre (TFSC), an organisation that supports small business, will launch ‘100 days to entrepreneurship,’ a training programme next year.

Through a combination of classroom and hands-on training sessions, with the support of experts in different areas, every participant would be ready to set up a business after 100 working days.

“The main problem with entrepreneurs is that they start with an idea but do not know how to proceed, so they drop it half way,” consultant to TFSC Sucharita Kumar said.

“Particularly women tend to get distracted, because they have to take care of family too. With this programme, we can take them right through, by offering help from experts in topics ranging from developing an idea to negotiating loans, and a mentoring system,” she said.

The details of the programme were announced on day one of a two-day workshop on ‘Empowering Women through Entrepreneurship’ organised by TFSC here on Friday.

Workshop inaugurated

Inaugurating the workshop and the new module, Tamil Nadu Industrial Investment Corporation (TIIC) chairperson Sheela Rani Chunkath urged the participating women to have dreams.

“Ask yourself where you want to go, and where you want to be in five years time. Find your strengths and build on them. Don’t be afraid to dream, and don’t be afraid to fail,” Ms.Chunkath said. TIIC would be happy to support all the participants, she added.

The ‘100 days to entrepreneurship’ programme would be launched in January and can take at least 30 women in for the first batch.

If successful, TFSC plans to expand the programme to people from backward classes and later also to the general public.
