Release six councillors: CPI (M)

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has demanded the release of the six corporation councillors belonging to All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam who were arrested for blocking road on Saturday.

In a statement, its urban district secretary, R. Annadurai, said that pelting of stone at the AIADMK leader’s convoy was condemnable. Stating that blocking road was a democratic way of protest, he said it was not right to have detained the councillors behind the bars on the Local Body Administration Day.
