Geeta Reddy lauds development

SANGAREDDY: Major Industries Minister J. Geeta Reddy here on Saturday said that the district is surging ahead with all round development.

Addressing a gathering at Parade Grounds after hoisting the national flag on the occasion of state formation day today, Mrs. Geeta Reddy said that top priority was being accorded to farming sector and as part of it 120 vermicompost units and three vermi hatchery units would be established in the district. Similarly, 2.41 farmers to the tune of Rs. 334 crore were benefited under loan waiver scheme offered by the Union government.

Elaborating various initiatives of the government in different sections, the Minister said that Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy has accepted to grant Rs. 200 crore additionally for irrigation sector in the district. Around 21,000 youth were employed under Rajiv Udyogasri scheme.

e-initiative

Prajavani, an e-initiative to addressed the problems being faced by the people was launched by Mrs. Geeta Reddy. People can register their grievances at Mandal Samakhya offices by paying a nominal fee of Rs. 10. The issues would be directly examined by the Collector.

Collector Peeyush Kumar, Superintendent of Police Mohd Iqbal, Joint Collector Rama Shankar Naik and other senior officials participated in the programme.

While Mrs. Geeta Reddy was addressing the meeting, some of the TRS workers raised slogans in favour of Telangana.
