BJP blames YSR for growing terror

Staff Reporter

VIJAYAWADA: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has squarely blamed Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy and his government for growing terrorist activities in the state.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, BJP national secretary N. Indrasena Reddy alleged that the State government remained a mute spectator to Hyderabad turning into a breeding ground for terrorists in the country. The government was taking no initiative in controlling the terrorist activities in the state. Instead, it let off a terrorist, who killed an IPS officer. Tardy progress in investigation regarding terrorist strike on Task Force office, Lumbini Park, Gokul Chat and Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad was enough to say that the government was not sincere in tackling terrorism in the State, he said.

Sankalp yatra

The Central government was doing nothing better to curb terrorism, and had miserably failed on all fronts. There was no credence to the Central government’s claim that it was not going soft on terrorist activities. The BJP was organising Sankalp Yatra at all State capitals to highlight the failures of respective States and the Central government to curb terrorism. A public meeting would be organised at Parade grounds in Secunderabad on November 13 as a part of the Sankalp Yatra, he said.

Referring to the State government’s claims that it had succeeded in the irrigation sector, he said there was no truth in it. The government to release project wise details such as number of additional ayacut, villages benefited, and projects completed so far, he demanded. BJP city president Lanka Vengal Rao Yadav, BJP state executive members V. Srinivasa Raju, L.R.K. Prasad, I. Kurma Rao and others were present.
