‘Mandei’ festival begins at Koraput

KORAPUT: Cultural festivals help in promoting harmony and brotherhood among people, Suryanarayan Patro, the Energy Minister of the State said. He was addressing the gathering at the inaugural of the district-level festival, Mandei, at Nabarangpur on Sunday night.

He highlighted the similarity in the culture, traditions and other way of life of people in the undivided Koraput region.

He said that festivals like Mandei had brought high-level recognition to the Koraput district.

Raghunath Mahanty, the Panchayat Raj Minister also attended the function.

Programmes showcasing the culture of different parts of the State and from across the country were performed on the occasion.
