My suggestions on financial crisis ignored: Modi

AHMEDABAD: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said the Congress-led UPA government has been very slow in dealing with the economic slowdown in the country which is a result of the global financial crisis.

He also said there were internal contradictions in the approach adopted by the Centre. “On the issue of high inflation and price rise, Finance Minister P. Chidambaram has attributed it to global slowdown, while on several occasions, he had said that global turmoil in the financial sector would not hit Indian economy as it is insulated from such forces,” Mr. Modi said. “It seems that my suggestion has not been registered with them.” — PTI
